Monteggia and Galeazzi

Monteggia fracture: # of proximal third of ulna, with anterior dislocation of radial head. May be associated with injury to radial nerve
Treatment: open reduction and internal fixation in adults, closed reduction and casting are optimal for children.

Galeazzi fracture: Radial shaft #, associated with disruption of distal radio ulnar joint also need open reduction and internal fixation.
